He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Sr. Schaefer and Eslie Schaefer (Schulz) of Brenham; his brother Leroy Schaefer; his siblings-in-law, Mary Ann Schaefer and Wilbert Schwartz; his half-siblings, Edmond Schaefer (Leona), Erwin Schaefer (Mildred) and Hilda Schaefer; his sister-in-law Rhonda Conner (Tony); and his parents-in-law, Henry and Secilia Hendrickson.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Schaffner; his daughter Betty Loesch; his grandsons, Jason Brending (Lyndsay Hinze) and Justin Brending (Karley); his great grandchild Bailey Brending; his siblings, Edgar Schaefer and Verna Mae Sefcik (Elsie Horak); and his siblings-in-law, Donald Hendrickson, Henry Hendrickson (Marcy), Rickey Hendrickson (Paula), Gloria Shrock (Steve), Cheryl Meier (Darrell), Margaret Reuter and Ruth Schaefer.
