We are sad to announce that on September 20, 2023, at the age of 79, Johnnie R. Oates of Breckenridge, Texas, born in Stewart, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Oates and Thelma Oates (Peacock); and his grandson Shawn Calapp. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Oates of Breckenridge; his daughter Danette Neff; his son-in-law Robert of Rocklin, California; his daughter Johnetta Oates of New Mexico; his grandsons, Auston Wardlow and Ben Neff; his sister Marie Coppedge; and his brothers-in-law, Robert of Las Cruces and Mel Martin (Jackie) of Hobbs. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; along with three nephews and two nieces.
