He was predeceased by: his parents, Magnus Eugene Johnston and Louise Brogan Johnston; his brother William F. Johnston; and his wife Claire Beecroft Johnston. He is survived by: his sister Kathy Johnston Vore; his children, Jordan M. Johnston (Sandra Witherspoon Johnston), Daria J. Johnston Williams (Jason Williams) and Marcus Frazier Johnston II; his grandchildren, Frances Johnston Byrd, Kaitlin Frances Johnston, Krista Jeane Johnston Bryant, Luke Williams, Joshua Williams and Joseph Williams; and his great grandchildren, Brooklyn Everett, Braylen Everett, Brylee Everett, Braxton Byrd, Mendon Patrick Bryant and Jordan Allen Bryant. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
