He was predeceased by: his father Charles Lee Day; his wife Leona; his mother Flora Mae McNitt; his stepfather John McNitt; and his siblings, Charles Day (Shirley), Ida Mae Rowe (Gary), Mary Jo Hughan (Daryl), Theodore "Theo" Day and Ronald "Ronnie" Day (June).
He is survived by: his stepchild Johnnie; his children, Jeannette Gist (Randy) of Abilene, TX and Johnny Day (Martha) of Odessa, TX; his siblings, Linda (Dana Rinehart) of Fargo, OK and George (Ginny) of Liberal, KS; his grandchildren, Alexa-Rae Gist, Bryce Gist, Zackary Garza, Bree Day, Mason Copely and Cassidy Neal (Chad); and his great grandchild Bishop Neal.
