She was predeceased by: her parents, Isidro Vela and Candelaria Robles Vela; her husband Roman Chapa, Jr.; her children, Reymundo Chapa, Sr. and Lily Chapa; her great grandchild Dante Gabriel Rodriguez; and her siblings, Jesus Vela, Beatrice Vela Escobar (Rafael) and Maria Vela Vera (Gilbert).
She is survived by: her children, Roel Chapa (Sarah Smithwick), Michael Chapa (Christy), Anna Rodriguez (Roman) and Josie Gagnon; her daughter-in-law Idolina Chapa (Dolly); and her siblings, Isidro Vela, Jr. (Sandra), David Vela (Tanya) and Raquel Vela. She is also survived by Eighteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.
