Connie Elizabeth Friend Obituary

Connie Elizabeth Friend of Abilene passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the age of 48.

Liz, as she was known to friends and family, was born May 27, 1976 in Richmond, Virginia, to John and Janice Lynn Anderson Friend. She attended school in Richmond, and moved to Texas in 1999 with her dog, Bailey. After moving to Texas, she started her family. She loved animals and worked as a dog groomer for 15 years.

Liz is survived by her children, Cora Cloud of Timberville, Virginia, Hunter Lester of Clyde, Tony Marciano of Abilene and Malia King of Abilene; grandchildren Skyler, Silas and Aurora of Timberville, Virginia; parents John W. Friend of Richmond, Virginia and Janice Blunt of Wilmington, North Carolina; brother John Friend and wife Brook and sister Cindy Blunt, all of Wilmington, North Carolina; and Michael Alaniz of Abilene, who she was in a relationship with for 16 years.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the Elmwood Funeral Home Family Center, 5750 Hwy 277 in Abilene. Services are under the direction of Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home of Baird.
