He was predeceased by: his wives, Effie Layne and Carolyn Layne; his children, Harold Layne and Wanda Ramsey; and his great grandchild D. J. Hall.
He is survived by: his son Norman "Jerry" Layne (Gail) of Dunlap; his daughter-in-law Lynda Layne of Dunlap; and his sister Josephine Wright of Dunlap. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
