He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Ann Albert Garrett; his parents, Robert Elmer and Claudia Almedee Hardaway Garrett (Allie); and his siblings, James (J. D.), Porter, Homer, Floyd, Clyde, Roger, Ray Garrett and Ruth Garrett Bolton.
He is survived by: his sons, Paul T. Garrett and Barry L. (Janet); his grandsons, Joshua L. Garrett of Springfield, Tennessee and Jason K. Garrett (Kelsie) of Springfield, Tennessee; and his siblings, Clifton, Willard Garrett and Sue Ann Garrett Williams. He is also survived by the sixth of twelve children, he was a loving "Grand Pa" to his grandsons.
