She was predeceased by: her parents, James Issac Hargis and Deamos Bowman Hargis; her husband Joe Vaughn; her son Gary Vaughn; and her siblings, Blanche Kilgore, Cecil Hargis, Kenneth Hargis, Norene Hargis, Clyde Hargis and Lorene Hargis.
She is survived by: her children, Raymond Vaughn (Sharon), Helen Berry (Rick), Lou Ella Sloan (Sammy), Ruth Ann Harris (late Ben), Wanda Whitaker (Terry), Brenda Dukes (Charles), Terry Vaughn (Tracy) and Bruce Vaughn (Vickie); and her siblings, Frances Hargis, Faye Barnes, Ikelene Hargis and James Hargis. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren.
