He was predeceased by: his parent John R.; his daughters, Melissa Walker and Rita Moon; his grandson Brad Burns; and his siblings, Willie Moser and Alma Sherrills.
He is survived by: his parent Lina Bell Moser Melson; his children, James H. Melson (Pam) and Judy Holt; his husband Stanley; his son-in-law Ernie Moon of Waynesboro, TN.; his grandchildren, Jason Holt, Tyler Burns, Lisa Melson, Shania Melson, Jessie Melson, Brook Moon, Breanna Moon, Jamie Burns and Alana Burns; and his great grandchildren, Tristin Holt, Maci Melson, Hunter Burns, Carson Burns, Bailey Burns, Markell Burns and Makhya Burlson.
