He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Brenton and Bettye Carol Bass Burks. He is survived by: his wife Jeannie Burks of Tullahoma; his children, David Burks (Ashleigh) of Murfreesboro, Jonathan Howison (Jillian) of Scottsdale, AZ, Tracey Burks of Bell Buckle and Trina Stinson (Chris) of Lynchburg; and his siblings, Larry Burks (Ruth) of Cookeville, Richard Burks (Elisa) of Murfreesboro and Gloria Crick (James) of Wartrace. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
