She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Herndon and Maudie Herndon; her husband Joe Ward Lawson; and her siblings, Joe Frank Herndon, Jr., Mary "Scottie" Reedie and Sarah Katherine Martin.
She is survived by: her children, John Lawson, Patricia Weber (John), Sandy Lawson and Cherry Weakley (Ken); and her sister Virginia Rhea Dozier (Tommy). She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
