Chavis of Country Club, IL; his grandchildren, Michael Dowd of Wimauma, Portia Dowd Mims, Fanchon, Alfred Dowd Jr., Lydell, Alesa and Donovan Dowd of Chicago, IL; his siblings-in-law, Charlie, Troy (Bertha), Rogers, Lonnie, Dorothy, Ora Lee and Doris; and also, Peter Adams, William "Bully" Johnson, William Gadberry, Robert Adams and Samuel Chavis. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews and cousins.
