He was predeceased by: his wife Pauline Gibson Mallicoat; his children, Rev David Mallicoat and Dianna Mallicoat; his parents, Rev. Herbert and Minnie Mallicoat; his brother Claude; his sister-in-law Anna Belle Mallicoat; his daughter-in-law Linda Mallicoat; and his brother-in-law Andy Buchanan.

He is survived by: his son Danny Mallicoat of New Tazewell; his grandchildren, Todd Mallicoat (Tandy), Tony Mallicoat (Mary), Terri West (Greg), JoAnna Burke (Mitch), Randy Roberts (Melissa), Rebecca Stansberry (Tony) and Amanda Garland (Doug); his great grandchildren, Taylor Mallicoat, Molly Mallicoat, Maggie Mallicoat, Morgan Gazay (Brett), Kassidy King (Zack), Maycee West, Drew Dixon, Brock Dixon, Ruger West, Lily Burke, Noah Burke, Millie Roberts, Marlee Roberts, Samuel Poisal, Jacob Stansberry, Kristen Cortes and Madison Garland; his great great grandchildren, Kambel Gazay, Kannon Gazay, Karver Gazay and Anastasia Cortes; his sister Bonnie Buchanan; his sisters-in-law, Lorine Harvey and Maggaline Brooks (Leroy); and his daughter-in-law Mary Lou Mallicoat. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Due to Covid 19, the immediate family will hold a private graveside service.
