He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Wakefield and Ella Mae Wakefield; and his siblings, Kate Ownby, Annie Ownby, Elizabeth Roberts, Ruth Moore, Ralph Wakefield, Charles Wakefield, Fred Wakefield and Claude Wakefield.

He is survived by: his close friend Frankie Allen. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.
