It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Dennis Abernathy of Tellico Plains, Tennessee, who passed away on December 23, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his former wife Grace Shaw Abernathy; his wife Anna Ruth Abernathy; his son Gerald Abernathy; his granddaughter Kyra Abernathy; and his parents, Eli Abernathy and Kate Abernathy.
He is survived by: his sons, Dennis Abernathy and Victor (Tina R. Abernathy); his grandchildren, Daniel Abernathy (Megan), Reuben Abernathy (Madison), Brad Abernathy (Lindsey), Kristi Abernathy, Tyler Abernathy, Olivia Abernathy and Zachary Abernathy; and his great grandchildren, Raelyn and Kade Abernathy.
