He is survived by: his former wife Alma Jean Russell; his wife Bette Ringley Byrd of Kingsport; his children, Linda Bass, Lisa Dahlvang, Connie Lawson and Robert Lawson; his stepchildren, Jason and Karen Byrd; and his siblings, Jack Lawson, Donnie Lawson and Nancy Anderson.
