He was predeceased by: his uncles, Otto and Leo Hopper; his aunt Walleta Brummitt Hopper; his mother Rachel Hopper Beaver; his daughter Jennifer Lee Nelson; and his grandchildren, Daniel and Haley Seals.

He is survived by: his wife Lucille Nelson; his daughters, Elizabeth Berkley Grubb (Scott) and Teresa Seals (Roger); his grandchildren, Joshua Ayers, Nicole Davidson, Lezlie Berkley and Samuel Seals; his great grandchildren, Lexus, Seth, Elijah, Erin and Lee; and his close friend Protector. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made to the activity center at Tri-State Health & Rehab.
