He was predeceased by: his parents, James Elder and Emma Buss; his daughters, Teri and Sheri Elder; his brother James Ronald Elder; his grandchildren, Daisy, Rose Elder and Vincent Elder; and his great grandchild Robin Burlison.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Keltner Elder of Sparta, Tennessee.; his son Mark Elder; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Elder; and his brother Dennis Elder (Shirley) of Sevierville. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, and friends.
