He was predeceased by: his father Columbus Phillips; his daughter Zelda Phillips; and his siblings, Ethel Champion, Venelia Phillips, Mae Price, Nellie White, Julia Collins, Carolyn Johnson and L. C. Phillips.

He is survived by: his wife Francell Phillips; his daughters, Linda Ann Heatherly and Deborah Englund (Norman); and his grandchild Reece Englund. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
