She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucy Garrett and James Lois Reed; her stepfather Robert Garrett; her son Hal Whaley; and her brothers, James Reed and Jack Reed.

She is survived by: her husband Freddie Hancock; her children, Robert Whaley (Kathy) and Lisa Lane; her grandchildren, Rosalie Lane, Tyler Ayers, Summer Whaley and Chloe Dunlap; and her great grandchildren, Nixon Ayers, Luna Ayers and Ryland Whaley.
