She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Whitaker and Fronia Whitaker; her husband George Kenneth Pitts; her sister Velma Gentry; her nephew Bobby Gentry; and her niece Veronica Cleveland.

She is survived by: her sister Linda Garrett; her sister-in-law Betty Blair; her nephew Matthew Garrett (Katie); her nieces, Michelle Bledsoe (Casey), Rhonda Haynes (Terry) and Vannessa Wallin (Lenus); and her great-nephews, Henry Woodson, Griffin Hall and Colt Collier.
