She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Burns; her parents, Ellis Gibson and Lou Ova Gibson (Carter); her stepmother Alora Gibson (Carter); and her sisters, Stella Mize and Della Humphreys.

She is survived by: her daughter June Bailey (Ross); her grandson Brent Bailey (Charlene); her cousins, Joyce and Shirley Gibson; and her niece Sandra Payne (Ruben).
