He is survived by: his wife Virginia Nipper Phillips; his children, Jody Phillips (Lisa) of Murfreesboro and Marsha Carpenter (Patrick) of Murfreesboro; his daughter-in-law Stephanie Phillips; and his grandchildren, Kirsten Carpenter, Samuel Phillips, Matthew Phillips and Katelyn Carpenter.
