He is survived by: his wife Reba Hinkle; his mother Ida Beatrice Johnson; his children, Christopher Johnson, Marcus Johnson, Charlotte Johnson and Marissa Johnson; and his sisters, Gwendolyn Perry and Wanda Hubbard. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
