He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lloyd Herrod and Cornelia Hopkins Herrod of Lascassas. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Bailey Herrod (Vietnam) of Murfreesboro; his children, Lisa Herrod and Leslie Whorley (Keith); his siblings, David Herrod (Pat) of Gadsden, Mack Herrod, Jeff Herrod, Ann Herrod, Connie Davis and Penny Vick (Allen); his brothers-in-law, Johnny Bailey and Donald Detwiler; his grandchildren, Meagan Morgan (Brandon), Shelby Goins, Karter Johansen (Stevie), Kaitlyn Johansen, Stone Basham and Kellen Johansen; his great grandchildren, Kaebree Morgan of Murfreesboro, Jace Goins of Murfreesboro, Harper Grace Goins of Murfreesboro and Sawyer Goins of Murfreesboro; and his friend Joe Smythe of Lascassas. He is also survived by animals, and he enjoyed walking his dogs & golfing with his friends and grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Don's name to his favorite organizations of either Wounded Warriors or the American Humane Society.
