She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Johnson and Lola Vance Johnson; and her husband George Shell. She is survived by: her sons, Timothy Shell of Roan Mountain and Roger Shell (Bill) of Roan Mountain; her stepchildren, George Shell (Terriann) and Angie Boone; her brothers, Sonny Johnson (Gail) of Roan Mountain and Keith Johnson (Sandy) of Cleveland, OH; her grandchildren, Angela Thorn, Michael Shell, Nicki Shell, Sheri Shell, Robert Leeper, Dylan Shell, Blake Shell, Dalton Shell, Jacob Shell and Mattie Buchanan; and her great grandchildren, Mariah Thorn, Ryan Thorne, Marisa Thorne, Zack Thorne, Sophie Thorne, Andria Moss, Alisaty Shell and Alex Shell. She is also survived by Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carter County is mandating that all citizens who live in or visit wear masks in public. In keeping in accordance with this mandate, all visitors to the graveside service are required to wear a mask or facial covering.
