He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Bowen and Lula Mae Hendrix Bowen; his son Billy Wayne Bowen; his brother Charles Anthony "Bobo" Bowen; his grandson Kelby Bowen; and the mother of his children Marie Bowen Hutton.

He is survived by: his daughters, Gail Harmond (Jeff) of Goodspring, Laquitta Norwood (Jimmy Green), Tammy Hughes (Kenneth) of Prospect and Donna Martin of Pulaski; and his siblings, Bobby Bowen (Pam) of Pulaski and Pauline Sturgeon (Fred) of Decatur. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and his best friend and fur baby.
