He was predeceased by: his fiancée Melinda Lynch; his parents, Mary Palmer and Ott Palmer; and his sister Sandra Seals. He is survived by: his daughter Stacy Trentham (Scott); his grandchildren, Samantha Romo (Bubba) and Jacob Trentham; his daughter Laura Slagle (Kelly Hance); and his siblings, Mildred Norton, Fran Brooks, Elizabeth Wilson, Jay Palmer (Elaine), Jerry Palmer (Nancy), Lynn Palmer (Sandy) and Sheila Palmer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
