He is survived by: his close friends, Judson and Dorothy Chastain; his children, Carol Loper (Harlan) of Powell, TN., Ronald D. Sowards Jr. of Powell, TN. and Dawn Peters (Raymond) of Powell, TN.; and his grandchildren, Adam Sowards, Lauren Oakes, Justin Sowards, Brittnie Sowards, Kameron Peters and Kristina Peters. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
