He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Ray and Alice Ray; his son Jody Ray; and his siblings, Doris Randolph, Dixie Chandler, Brenda Mullins and Donald Ray.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Ray; his stepsons, Larry Goins, Jr. (Katie) and Michael Edward Goins (Sara); his grandchildren, Abigail Goins and Nikki Williams; his siblings, Deanna Crumb and Wendell Ray (Linda) of Calhoun, GA; and his niece Staci Miller (Brett). He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
