He was predeceased by: his parents, Chris Duff and Mamie Powell Duff; and his siblings, Hoyt Duff, Gartrelle Duff of Trion, GA. and Ralph Duff.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Smith Duff; his children, David R. Duff of Greensboro, NC, Bryan Duff of Charleston, SC, Ellen Duff and Barrett Schock; and his sister Mary Dean Hixon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
