He was predeceased by: his parent Arlie M.; his parents-in-law, Willie H. (Bill) and Barbara West Phillips; his brothers, David Harold, William Joseph Donald (Bill) and Robert Burton (Bob); and his siblings-in-law, Cynthia Lay, Sam and Hal Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Phillips Lay; his children, Lisa Lay Brumett (Jeff), Jack Marvin Lay, II (Lisa VanCleave Lay) and Jerry Lay; his grandchildren, Zach Brumett (Emily Conrad), Josh Brumett, Jacob Lay (Jasmine Jones Lay), Seth Lay, Jordan Lay, Maddie Lay and Isaiah Lay; his friends, Evie Newport, Austin Chambers, Allyson Swecker and Alyssia Terry; his brothers, Allyn Lay and John Charles (Linda Lay); and his siblings-in-law, Nola Lay and Bob Phillips (Mary). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
