Lynda Spooner Obituary

Lynda Louise Spooner, age 63, ended a long battle with cancer on Thursday, March 23, 2023. She passed peacefully at home in Old Hickory, Tennessee surrounded by her brother and two daughters.

Lynda was born on February 8, 1960 in Brooklyn, NY to Richard Spooner and Sandra McLaughlin Garner. She was raised in Long Island, NY and Bon Aqua, TN.

Lynda enjoyed growing up around her grandparents, aunties, and cousins in Long Island but fell in love with Bon Aqua one summer while she and her brother were staying with family friends. After convincing their mother to move to Tennessee, Lynda remained there and built a family of her own.

Lynda had a soft heart, gentle yet strong spirit, and a passion for all of God's creatures. She particularly loved horses.

She was predeceased by her father, Richard Spooner; grandparents, Paul and Grace Evelyn Cooke; and twin aunties, Janette Correa and Janice McLaughlin.

Lynda leaves behind her two loving daughters, Shawna Robinson (Garett Anderson), Miranda Dowell; grandchildren, Cora, Keilen, and Nolan Anderson; mother, Sandra McLaughlin Garner; brother and best friend, Richard (Spooner) Garner, several nieces and a nephew, many cousins, bonus daughters Katherine Gianni and Stefani Baca , and bonus granddaughter Phoenix.

Our warrior mother will be deeply missed.
