She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther B. Layne and Dessie Crawford; and her husband J. C. Smartt. She is survived by: her son Jerry Smartt (Debbie) of Columbia, TN; her grandchildren, Alethea Smartt of Galapagos and Emily Corbin of Springfield, TN; and her great grandchildren, Nicholas Grant Corbin and Tanner Bryce Corbin. She is also survived by relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Golden Cross Senior Ministries or Hermitage United Methodist Church Hunger Ministries.
