He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Watson and Pauline Watson; and his granddaughter Carrie Elise Taylor. He is survived by: his daughters, Elizabeth Gilbert (Michael) of Del Rio, TN, Rebecca Taylor (Kenny) of Pauls Valley, OK and Rachel Smiley (Dontrea) of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren, J. M. Gilbert III, Malachi Taylor and Katie Taylor; and his siblings, Katherine Trainor (Jimmy) of Cordova, TN and Robert Watson of Germantown, TN..
