She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert J. Newsome and Geraldine A. Hoback Angle; her husband Dr. Gilberto Luis Rivera; and her son-in-law John Cowgur. She is survived by: her children, Gilbert Rivera (Kellee) of Oakland, Tennessee, Gere Rivera of Naples, Julie Cowgur of Bentonville, Jennifer Trainer (James) of Somerville and Sally Dixon of Marietta, Georgia.. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
