He was predeceased by: his parents, Nettie Marie and Ollie Neal Gilbert; his daughter Amanda Gilbert; and his siblings, Nolan Gilbert, Maureen Stoltz Dozier, Virgie Estes, Elva Pearl Gilbert and Wilma Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia O'Guin Gilbert; his daughters, Patrice Bratton (Tim) of Columbia, TN, Shela Chessor (John Mark) of Centerville, TN and Melanie Freeman (Teryl) of Brushy, TN; and his siblings, Hilda Durham (Gene), Laura Jo McMahan (Jim) and Norval Gilbert (Annie). He is also survived by four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren with twin great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chessor Cemetery (194 Briggs St, Centerville, TN 37033). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
