He is survived by: his wife Emily Manchester Townes; his children, Alexander Townes Jr. (Alex), Emily Townes Roland (Emmy), Mary Catherine Townes O'Brien (Molly), John Townes and Anne Townes Daw; his grandchildren, Sarah Tevis-Townes, David Townes, Chris Townes Durham, Cyrus O'Brien, Joseph O'Brien, McKellar Townes, Molly Townes, Charles Townes, Georgia Daw and Eli Daw; his stepgranddaughter Apryl Leonard; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Henry, Daniel and Anna Townes.
