She was predeceased by: her parents, George Elmer and Pearl Ellen Russell Dykes; her former husband Jim Cox; her husband Bill Derting; her siblings, Jessie Alford, Maggie Martin, Eugene, James and Donald Dykes; and her nieces and nephews, Phyllis Dykes, Pamela Roe, Samantha Carroll, Gary and Perry Nickles.
She is survived by: her sister Lois Dykes Shipman of Graham, NC. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
