He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Brown Whitehead; his son Philip Whitehead; his parents, Etta Whitehead and Will Whitehead; and his siblings, Edith Henry, Lexie Gilbert, Oscar, James (JM), Kennis and Eldon Whitehead.
He is survived by: his children, Lynn Whitehead (Hamby), Karen Rose (Tom), Michael Whitehead (Wendy), Alan Whitehead (Lori) and Janine Updyke (Jay); and his brother Marvin Whitehead (Ruth). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
