He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Gaines and Margie Bright Gaines; his brother Kip Gaines; his son Ryan Gaines; and his nephew Jonathan Gaines.
He is survived by: his siblings, Korey Gaines and Tammy Buchanon; his children, Christopher Capshaw, Camron Capshaw, Krista Gaines-Thomas, Jacqueline Gaines, Tanjela Capshaw and Kiya Cooper; his stepdaughters, Ebony Capshaw and Natoya Bunnell; his grandchildren, Tyler Gaines, Lyla Gaines, Liam Stowers, Lorasen Stowers, Camden Gaines, Nyla Gaines, Landen Hall, Taliyah Lymon, Joslina Lymon, Kailani Love, Krisyon Capshaw, Zhane Capshaw, Jazlyn Capshaw and Dresden Bunnell; his uncle Walter Sudderth; his aunts, Deborah Bronner, Shirley Gaines and Minette Criner; his great-aunt Allene Bryant; and his close friend Denise Capshaw. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
