He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Ray Cathcart; his son Douglas Cathcart; his parents, James Cathcart and Essie Wood Cathcart; and his sisters, Bernice Williams, Lucille Young Wolff and Alva Cathcart.
He is survived by: his daughters, Patricia Flynn (Wayne) and Brenda Cathcart; his grandchildren, Brad Flynn (Jessi), Jacob Cathcart and Cassanderia Cathcart; his stepgrandson Al Baxter (Chrissy); his great grandchildren, Elyza and Gavyn Flynn; and his daughter Darlene Baybarz.
