He was predeceased by: his parents, Almet Simmons and Gladys Simmons; his brother Gene Simmons; his stepsiblings, Russell Ferrell and Fracis Anderson; his stepdaughter Lori Sweeton; and his great grandchild Kyler Mason Haggard.
He is survived by: his wife Gina Medley Simmons; his children, Kenny Simmons (Miranda), Cynthia Simmons Hillis (Snake), Denise Simmons Davis (Rick), Stephanie Medley Gregory (Joseph) and Joann Medley Bennett (Tim); his son-in-law DeWayne Sweeton; his stepbrothers, Eldie Ferrell (Janice) and Birl Ferrell; and his nephew Hollis Simmons (Brenda). He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 22 greatgrandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the funeral home to help assist in funeral expenses.
