She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Brandon and Golden Pearl Trail (Floyd); her husband Leon Messick; her siblings, Russell, Hershel, Howard, Fred, Virgel, Kenneth Trail, Edna Davis, Hazel Davis, Ruth Sain and Alta Crosslin; her children-in-law, Naomi Messick and Ezra Sissom; and her grandson Jonathan Messick.
She is survived by: her great grandchild Cherokee Sissom; her children, Melvin Messick of Morrison, David Messick of Murfreesboro and Brenda Sissom of Manchester; and her brother-in-law Jerry Messick. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Mary Lee's name to the Gnat Hill Cemetery.
