He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Rufus Burr Rutland and Donna May Rutland (Kudrna). He is survived by: his wife Tracy Ann Rutland (Tarlton); his children, Nathan Rutland (Ashley Bean Rutland) of Tucson, AZ and Donna Rutland (Tim Shaffer) of Manchester, TN; his siblings, Rufus Ward Rutland (Mary Kennedy Rutland) of Lawrenceville, GA and Cynthia Edwards (Rutland) of Acworth, GA; and his granddaughters, Kinley Cantrell and Lexi Rutland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, the family is asking that any monetary donations be made in memory to the First.
