She was predeceased by: her former husbands, Harlis E. Garrett and David Sullivan, 3rd (Clifford Phillips); her children, Janice Laney and James Eugene Garrett; and her siblings, Grace Best, Mazie Eldridge, Hazel Stephens, Eula Thurman, Joyce Durham, Millard Bohannon, Willard Bohannon, David Bohannon and Poteet Bohannon.
She is survived by: her husband Sammy Melton; her daughters, Mary K. Campbell (Allen) and Marsha F. Thayer (Randy); her grandchildren, Kimberly Hampton, Amanda Ziegler, Kassey Laney, Kameron Laney, Kliford Laney, Khrystan Laney, Mikeal David Jock, Kellye M. Jock, Kelsye M. Stocstill, Hunter G. Campbell and Brooke A. Dalton; and her siblings, Jill Choate, Jack Bohannon and Robert Bohannon.
