He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Thomas Russell and Cora Stanfill White Russell; his wife Jewel Pauline Nicholson Russell of Okolona, MS; his former wife Betty Ann Brown Russell of Jackson, TN; his stepchildren, Kenneth Nicholson (Ann Nicholson) of Okolona, MS, Robert Nicholson of Okolona, MS and Jewel Nicholson Sullivan of Okolona, MS; his daughter-in-law Martha Snider Russell of Lexington, TN; his grandsons, Scott Sullivan of Okolona, MS., Danny Sullivan of Okolona, MS. and Wade Nicholson of Okolona, MS.; and his siblings, Raymond Russell, Matthew Russell, Truman White, Grey White, Otis White, Clora Russell, Ilene Russell Maness, Lila Russell Maness, Katherine Russell Greenway, Geneva Russell Odell, Virgie White Powell, Ruby Russell Barnes and Peggy Russell Luna.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Russell (Venita) of Lexington, TN, Steve Russell of Jackson, TN and Ann Russell Ward of Smyrna, TN; his stepdaughter Kathy Nicholson Hicks of Amory, MS; his son-in-law Dan Sullivan of Okolona, MS.; and his sister Christine Russell Tritt of Wildwood, FL. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 4 dozen nephews and nieces.
