He was predeceased by: his parents, Monroe Potts and Inez Wisdom Potts; his wife Martha Potts; his son John Melvin Potts; his grandson Cody Lee Pilkinton; and his siblings, Walter Potts, Wesley Potts, Floyd Potts, Clarence Potts, Monroe J. Potts, Vincent Potts, Carl Potts and Retha L. Potts.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Potts (Wanda), Terry Potts (Daisy), Joe Potts (Becky), Brenda Pilkinton (Tim) and Linda Walker (Michael); his siblings, Davie E., Earlene Chapman of Nashville and Jewell Breece (Larry); and also Pete. He is also survived by Eight Grandchildren Seven Great-Grandchildren.
