He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Orum Waddey and Alberta Gilbertson Waddey; and his children, Mark Franklin Waddey and Christian Dale Soronen. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Carroll Ham Waddey; his daughters, Karen Powers (Bill), Laura Waddey, Catherine Pfeffer (Michael) and Bonny Cooper (Eddie); and his grandchildren, Natalie Cooper, Austin Cooper, Evan Cooper, Corey Cooper, Masiah Green and Lisel Soronen.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Edgewood Cemetery (219 S Gallaher View Rd, Knoxville, TN 37919).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Walter's name to Sacred Ground Hospice House.
